Tamil Actor Jay Confirms Conversion to Islam, Says Mosque Gave Him Peace and Equality

Karnataka: Indian Tamil actor Jay has confirmed that he has embraced Islam, saying he found genuine peace, equality, and respect after visiting a mosque.
Speaking in media interviews, the actor said his previous lifestyle did not provide him with inner satisfaction, but his perspective changed after experiencing the atmosphere inside a mosque, where people stand together in prayer without discrimination.
Jay said one of the things that deeply moved him was that nobody treated him differently because of his celebrity status. “Everyone was equal there,” he reportedly said, adding that the sense of equality and humility had a profound impact on him.
The actor also revealed that he is considering changing his name to “Aziz Jay” in the future following his conversion.
Joseph Vijay, popularly known as Vijay, is said to have had a close professional association with Jay. The actor gained recognition after appearing in the 2002 Tamil film Bagavathi, in which he played the younger brother of Vijay’s character.
Jay’s announcement has drawn widespread attention on social media, with many users reacting to his spiritual journey and public statements about faith and equality.
