Actress Momina Iqbal Alleges Death Threats, Harassment in Police Complaint
Lahore: Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal has submitted a detailed police complaint alleging repeated harassment, blackmail, and death threats from an individual identified as Saqib Chadhar, according to the contents of her application.
In the complaint, the actress stated that she was initially acquainted with the accused in 2022 when he allegedly proposed marriage to her. She added that the situation escalated after she learned that the accused was already married, following which she ended all contact and rejected the proposal.
The application claims that after the relationship ended, the accused and his associates began issuing threatening messages and phone calls. It further alleges that in June 2023, the accused sent a threatening text message from a mobile number warning that she would not even find a “dead body” if she did not agree to marry him.
According to the complaint, further threats were allegedly made in December 2024, including a handwritten note reportedly placed on a hotel letterhead in Lahore stating that she would be “killed” if she did not accept the marriage proposal.
The actress also alleged that the accused continued to harass her over time using different phone numbers, claiming he falsely stated he had separated from his wives in an attempt to re-establish contact.
The complaint further states that in May 2026, the accused allegedly sent a video message containing both original and AI-generated images of the actress in an attempt to blackmail and damage her reputation. It also claims that her family members and fiancé were contacted and harassed through calls and social media platforms.
Momina Iqbal stated that the accused also attempted to interfere with her upcoming marriage arrangements and threatened to disrupt her personal life and family proceedings. She alleged that intimidation continued through repeated calls, messages, and false legal complaints filed against her fiancé.
The actress has requested authorities to register a case against the accused and his alleged associates, take legal action, and ensure protection for her and her family. She also accused the individual of using influence and political connections to pressure and intimidate her.
Police authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the allegations.
