Mother of Sana Yousaf Welcomes Death Sentence Verdict, Calls It a Victory for Justice

ISLAMABAD: The mother of slain TikToker Sana Yousaf has expressed deep satisfaction over the court’s decision to award the death sentence to convicted killer Umar Hayat, calling the verdict a victory for justice and society.
According to details, the District and Sessions Court in Islamabad sentenced Umar Hayat to death in the high-profile murder case of Sana Yousaf. Following the verdict, Sana’s mother thanked the judiciary and prosecution team for their efforts in bringing the case to its logical conclusion.
Speaking to media representatives after the ruling, she said that justice had finally been served for her daughter after a long wait.
“I am very happy with the court’s decision today. I thank everyone who stood by us during this difficult time and did not leave us alone,” she said.
She added that the verdict was not just a victory for her family but also an example for the entire society.
The court, presided over by Additional Sessions Judge Afzal Majoka, announced the reserved verdict after the prosecution presented strong and irrefutable evidence against the accused.
During the trial, prosecutors argued that the murder was premeditated. Testimonies from the investigating officer, the driver of the vehicle involved, and other eyewitnesses were presented before the court.
The court sentenced Umar Hayat to death under Section 302 and also imposed a fine of Rs2 million. Failure to pay the fine could result in additional imprisonment.
The judgment reportedly relied on statements from more than 25 witnesses, investigation reports, and forensic evidence, which collectively established Umar Hayat’s involvement in the brutal killing.
