Stray Dogs Maul 8-Year-Old Boy to Death in Quetta

QUETTA: An eight-year-old boy was killed after being attacked by a pack of stray dogs on Sariab Road in Quetta, triggering widespread anger and fear among residents.
According to reports, the child was near his home when more than 10 stray dogs suddenly attacked him and severely injured him. Local residents rushed to the scene and rescued the boy from the dogs before shifting him to Civil Hospital Quetta in critical condition.
However, the child later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Following the incident, citizens strongly criticized the Metropolitan Corporation Quetta, alleging that the number of stray dogs in areas including Sariab Road and Satellite Town has increased to dangerous levels.
Residents said the civic administration has failed to carry out an effective campaign to control stray dogs despite repeated complaints and growing risks to public safety.
Public circles have demanded immediate action from the provincial government against negligent officials and called for an emergency operation in residential areas to protect citizens, especially children, from further attacks.
