Final Deadline Given to Lawyers in £190 Million Case Appeals of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court has granted a final opportunity to the lawyers of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi to present arguments in the appeals related to the £190 million case.
According to a written order issued by Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif, the court has set May 20 as the final deadline for concluding arguments in the case.
The court stated that due to the sensitivity and importance of the matter, this is the last and final opportunity being granted to the defense counsel.
The order noted that counsel Salman Safdar had requested an adjournment to seek instructions from his clients, which was opposed by the National Accountability Bureau.
It further stated that during the previous hearing, parties were instructed to ensure their presence and complete arguments, but instead the defense counsel sought adjournments on weak grounds.
The court warned that it expects all parties to avoid unnecessary delays and adjournment tactics and directed the defense to prepare for final arguments on the next hearing scheduled for May 20.
