Sindh High Court Orders Job for Petitioner in Disability Quota Case

Karachi:Sindh High Court has ordered authorities to provide employment to a petitioner within three months in a case related to non-implementation of the disability quota in government jobs.
During the hearing, the constitutional bench directed officials to recruit the petitioner under the legally mandated five percent quota reserved for persons with disabilities.
Advocate Usman Farooq informed the court that more than 3,000 vacancies were currently lying vacant in government departments in Karachi, while educated persons with disabilities were being denied government employment opportunities.
He argued that under the law, five percent of government jobs are reserved for disabled persons and urged the court to ensure implementation of the quota system.
Following the arguments, the court directed the relevant authorities to appoint the petitioner within three months in accordance with the disability quota policy.
