Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Visits Peshawar Police Headquarters, Meets Families of Martyred Officers

Peshawar: Mohsin Naqvi visited the police headquarters in Peshawar where he met the families of 15 police personnel martyred in Bannu and paid tribute to their sacrifices.

During the visit, the interior minister expressed condolences and solidarity with the families of the fallen officers. He praised the courage and resilience of the mothers of the martyrs, saying their strength further reinforces the nation’s resolve against terrorism.

Naqvi said the police personnel who embraced martyrdom in Bannu displayed extraordinary bravery and made the ultimate sacrifice in defence of the country.

Later, the minister chaired a special briefing on the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where officials informed him about successful operations against what authorities described as Indian-sponsored terrorists, as well as the department’s operational preparedness.

He appreciated the professional capabilities of the CTD and commended its effective operations against militant elements. Naqvi assured officials that the federal government would provide full support to further enhance the department’s capacity and capabilities.

The interior minister also stressed the need for improved coordination and cooperation among law enforcement agencies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and received a detailed briefing on ongoing efforts in this regard.


During his visit, Mohsin Naqvi laid flowers at the martyrs’ memorial and offered prayers for the deceased officers.

He also visited the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Safe City Project, where he inspected the Integrated Command and Control Centre and reviewed the surveillance system based on modern camera technology.

Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Zulfiqar Hameed briefed the minister on the Safe City Project and CTD performance, while the Additional IG CTD informed him about measures being taken to modernize the department.

The visit was also attended by the Chief Secretary, IG FC KP North, IG Federal Constabulary, and other senior officials.
