Weather Forecast for Eid-ul-Adha Issued: Heat Expected to Increase After Brief Rain Spell

Lahore: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has released its weather outlook for the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha period, predicting a mix of rainfall and rising temperatures across different parts of the country.
According to Director Meteorology Irfan Waraich, a current weather system is bringing rain to upper Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with showers expected to continue for the next 24 to 48 hours.
He said that Lahore will experience relatively pleasant weather for the next two days, but temperatures are expected to rise again afterward as heat conditions return. Light to moderate rainfall is also likely in upper and northeastern Punjab during this period.
Regarding Karachi, he stated that the city will not experience the extreme heat seen in early May, but temperatures will remain on the higher side. Weather conditions in Karachi are expected to stay relatively stable over the next couple of days.
For Eid-ul-Adha, the meteorological department indicated that temperatures are likely to increase gradually once the current rain spell ends. Officials also suggested that another rain system may approach before Eid, although a final forecast cannot yet be confirmed.
The report further stated that after the rain system passes, heat intensity is expected to rise during the Eid days.
Explaining climate patterns, the director said that if the El Niño phenomenon becomes active in the Pacific Ocean, it can reduce monsoon rainfall in South Asian countries.
Authorities have advised the public to stay updated with official forecasts as weather conditions may continue to change in the coming days.
