Alleged Irregularities Case Registered Over Karachi Bar Elections at City Court Police Station

Karachi: A case has been registered at the City Court Police Station over alleged rigging during the annual elections of the Karachi Bar Association.
According to police sources, the case was filed on the complaint of Munir Ahmed, an employee of the Sindh Bar Council, against unidentified individuals.
The FIR states that on May 7, during the election process, chaos erupted around 10:30 am when allegations of rigging were raised. It further claims that 30 to 40 lawyers forcibly snatched ballot papers and began chanting slogans, disrupting the polling process.
The complaint also alleges that polling material was taken from the West Court area, leading to suspension of voting in other districts as well. It further states that lawyers and alleged miscreants used abusive language and sabotaged the electoral process, including alleged attacks on returning officers and incidents of vandalism.
Police confirmed that a case has been registered against unknown suspects following the complaint, and further investigation is underway.
