UAE to Provide Medical Equipment for Gwadar’s Jiwani Hospital as Balochistan Upgrades Facility to THQ Status

KARACHI: Balochistan Health Secretary Mujeeb ur Rehman visited the Consulate of the United Arab Emirates in Karachi at the invitation of UAE Consul General Dr. Bakhit Atiq Al Remeithi and members of the UAE royal family.
During the visit, a detailed meeting was held regarding the handover and operationalization of a medical center constructed by the UAE royal family for the people of Jiwani in Balochistan.
The meeting discussed the hospital’s operational requirements, future expansion plans, and the provision of improved healthcare facilities for residents of Jiwani and surrounding areas.
Mujeeb ur Rehman thanked the UAE government and royal family for establishing a hospital in the remote coastal region of Jiwani, calling it a strong example of friendship and brotherhood between the two nations.
He stated that the Government of Balochistan has upgraded the medical center to the status of a Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital, which will significantly improve access to quality healthcare services for the local population.
Dr. Bakhit Atiq Al Remeithi assured that all required medical equipment and machinery for the hospital would be provided by the UAE, while the Government of Balochistan would bear operational expenses, including human resources and other recurring costs, to ensure the hospital remains functional and sustainable.
The Balochistan health secretary also praised the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan, especially the people of Balochistan, and the UAE. He said the people of Balochistan highly value the support, goodwill, and assistance extended by the UAE leadership and royal family.
Both sides agreed to continue mutual cooperation in the future to further improve healthcare facilities and welfare initiatives in underdeveloped areas of Balochistan.
