Government Raises Petrol and Diesel Prices Across Pakistan

Islamabad: The government has announced a significant increase in petroleum product prices, with the new rates taking effect from midnight.

According to the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs14.92 per litre, taking the new price to Rs414.78 per litre. Meanwhile, the price of high-speed diesel has gone up by Rs15 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs414.58 per litre.

Officials stated that the revised fuel prices will remain effective for one week.

Sources in the Petroleum Division also revealed that the petroleum levy on both petrol and diesel has been raised substantially. The levy on petrol has increased from Rs103.50 to Rs117.41 per litre, while the levy on diesel has been raised from Rs28.69 to Rs42.60 per litre.

The latest increase is expected to further impact transportation costs and trigger a rise in the prices of essential commodities across the country.
