PTI Alleges Deliberate Obstruction in Filing Supreme Court Appeal in Al-Qadir Trust Case: Junaid Akbar

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Junaid Akbar Khan has alleged that serious and deliberate obstacles are being created in the process of filing a Supreme Court appeal in the Al-Qadir Trust case involving party founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, Junaid Akbar claimed that legal procedures are being intentionally delayed to hinder the filing of appeals. He said lawyer Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry had been present outside Adiala Jail since 10:30 am for signing power of attorney and other necessary legal documents but was made to wait repeatedly.
He further alleged that despite clear instructions from the Islamabad High Court, PTI lawyer Salman Akram Raja, Khalid Yousaf, and Bushra Bibi’s daughter were not given time for a personal meeting with the jail superintendent. He termed this a violation of court orders.
Junaid Akbar said that similar delays had previously been observed in signing legal documents related to medical appeals, and now the same pattern is being repeated for the new appeal process.
He described the situation as a violation of the fundamental right to access justice as well as a serious question mark on the constitutional right to legal representation.
