Chicken Prices Rise Across Pakistan, Rates Increase in Major Cities

Islamabad: Chicken prices have increased in several cities across Pakistan, adding to the burden on consumers.

In Lahore, the wholesale rate of live broiler chicken has been set at Rs354 per kilogram, while the retail price stands at Rs368 per kilogram. Chicken meat is being sold at Rs533 per kilogram, and eggs are priced at Rs246 per dozen. Compared to the previous day, chicken meat prices have risen by Rs14 per kilogram, while live chicken rates have increased by Rs10 per kilogram.

In Peshawar, the price of live broiler chicken has surged by Rs20 per kilogram in a single day, with the official rate now set at Rs420 per kilogram.

Similarly, in Faisalabad, the wholesale price of live chicken is Rs359 per kilogram and the retail rate is Rs373 per kilogram, while chicken meat is being sold at Rs540 per kilogram. Egg prices remain at Rs246 per dozen.

In Rawalpindi, prices have remained unchanged, with chicken meat previously recorded at Rs570 per kilogram, and live chicken priced at Rs379 (wholesale) and Rs393 (retail) per kilogram.

Meanwhile, in Islamabad, the official rate of live broiler chicken has been set at Rs400 per kilogram, while farm eggs are being sold at Rs247 per dozen.
