Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cabinet Approves Climate Action Board Amendment Bill 2026

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cabinet has approved the Climate Action Board Amendment Bill 2026, according to Special Assistant on Information Shafi Jan.
In a statement, Shafi Jan said that the cabinet also approved a grant of Rs. 112.5 million for minority students. He added that the endowment fund for terrorism-affected minorities has been increased to Rs. 300 million.
He further stated that relief packages were approved for victims of various incidents in Mardan, Nowshera, and Haripur. A grant-in-aid of Rs. 168.1 million was also approved for the Education Foundation.
According to Shafi Jan, the Institute of Mental Health Sciences has been declared a subsidiary of the Hayatabad Medical Complex. The cabinet also approved the appointment of a Director General for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority.
He added that an additional grant of Rs. 180 million was approved to upgrade the Kidney Hospital in Mingora, Swat into a modern kidney transplant center.
The provincial cabinet also approved the procurement of 225,000 metric tons of wheat. The wheat purchase price has been set at Rs. 3,500 per 40 kg, with a total estimated cost of Rs. 19.68 billion.
