JUI-F Balochistan Rejects Pressure on Madrassa Registration, Vows Strong Response

Quetta: The provincial leadership of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) in Balochistan has firmly rejected what it termed “pressure and coercive measures” regarding madrassa registration, vowing to defend religious seminaries at every forum.
The stance was expressed during a joint and special meeting of the party’s provincial executive council and parliamentary group, chaired by Maulana Abdul Wasey at the party’s provincial secretariat in Quetta. The meeting was attended by senior party leaders, senators, and members of national and provincial assemblies.
Participants strongly criticized recent government actions against religious seminaries, including the issuance of notices, alleged closures of some madrassas, and restrictions imposed under the pretext of registration. The meeting declared such measures contrary to religious, constitutional, and democratic principles.
Leaders emphasized that madrassas are not merely educational institutions but custodians of Islamic culture, ideological foundations, and national identity. They resolved that any discriminatory policy or administrative pressure against them would be resisted through legal, constitutional, political, and public means.
The meeting also developed a comprehensive strategy to address the situation, agreeing that the party would stand firm on its principled position without yielding to any pressure or expediency.
Discussions were also held regarding the expected visit of the party’s central leadership to Balochistan, with committees formed to manage organizational arrangements, public outreach, and event planning.
The participants reviewed organizational matters and reiterated their commitment to strengthening party structure, discipline, and coordination in line with modern requirements. They also emphasized full implementation of decisions made by the central leadership.
Key decisions taken in the meeting are expected to be presented in the upcoming provincial consultative council session for formal approval, after which they will be communicated to the public through press briefings and official statements.
