Rocket Attacks on Residential Areas in Quetta Draw Strong Condemnation from Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party

Quetta (Khabar Daily) — The Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PkNAP) has strongly condemned recent rocket attacks targeting densely populated residential areas of Quetta, raising serious concerns over the performance of the government and security institutions.
In a strongly worded statement issued by the party’s provincial secretariat, the attacks were described as a brutal and inhumane act targeting innocent and unarmed civilians, including women and children. The affected areas reportedly include Akhtar Muhammad Road, Shanti Nagar, Faqir Muhammad Road, Usmania Gali, and Mir Ahmed Khan Road.
The statement said such incidents have not only spread fear and panic among residents but have also raised critical questions about the effectiveness of law enforcement agencies, intelligence systems, and overall security policies in the provincial capital.
The party noted that attacks of this nature in a sensitive and major city like Quetta expose serious weaknesses in the security framework. It added that if citizens are not safe in their homes, neighborhoods, and marketplaces, it reflects a failure of the state to ensure protection of life and property.
PkNAP further stated that ongoing incidents of terrorism, target killings, bomb blasts, kidnappings for ransom, and now rocket attacks on civilian areas have caused severe psychological distress, insecurity, and anxiety among the public.
The party warned that if immediate, decisive, and impartial action is not taken against those responsible, including facilitators and planners, the consequences could be dangerous and further erode public trust.
Calling for concrete steps instead of routine statements, the party demanded a transparent and high-level investigation into the incident. It also urged authorities to ensure the arrest and prosecution of all those involved.
Additionally, PkNAP called for immediate medical assistance for the injured, compensation for affected families, and enhanced security arrangements in the impacted areas. It stressed the need to strengthen intelligence surveillance, increase police patrols, and implement effective safety measures across the city.
The statement concluded by reaffirming the party’s commitment to raising its voice against terrorism and violence, and to continue its struggle for public safety, peace, justice, and political stability through democratic means.
