No Backdoor or Frontdoor Talks Underway, Focus Remains on Budget Approval: Senator Mishal Yousafzai

Islamabad: Senator Mishal Yousafzai has stated that no form of negotiations—either backdoor or frontdoor—are currently taking place, nor are there any signs of such developments, as the government’s primary focus remains on passing the budget.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, she said that impressions are being created to ease public pressure, suggesting that relief may be granted to Bushra Bibi. However, she clarified that the current priority is the approval of both provincial and federal budgets.
Yousafzai added that political stakeholders are concentrating on including preferred development schemes and securing funds, with efforts directed toward presenting a surplus budget. She further remarked that the federal government does not want any disruption or political unrest until the budget process is completed.
Commenting on legal matters, she expressed the view that the Islamabad High Court is unlikely to hear bail pleas at this stage, and that Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi are not expected to be released in the immediate future.
She also raised concerns about the lack of clarity within political leadership, stating that even when questions are raised at the party level, no clear answers are provided, and members are often advised to remain silent.
Yousafzai concluded by questioning what alternative path remains if dialogue is not taking place, highlighting growing uncertainty within political circles.
