Peshawar Zalmi Receive Boost as Naheed Rana Cleared for PSL 11 Final

Islamabad: Peshawar Zalmi have received a major boost ahead of the Pakistan Super League 2026 Final as Bangladeshi fast bowler Nahid Rana has been granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to rejoin the team.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board had earlier withdrawn Rana’s NOC due to workload management, with his initial participation limited until April 13. However, the board has now allowed him to return specifically for the PSL final scheduled on May 3.

According to the board, participation in a major global franchise final is important for the player’s development. The decision was made after consultation with team management and the medical panel, who confirmed that his fitness and workload remain under control.
Rana had been rested during the opening matches of Bangladesh’s ongoing T20 series against New Zealand, which also influenced the board’s decision to grant him clearance.
Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi expressed gratitude to the Bangladesh Cricket Board for allowing the player to participate in the final.
Javed Afridi (@JAfridi10) April 13, 2026
Naheed Rana has delivered an impressive performance in the tournament, taking 7 wickets in 4 matches for Zalmi, including a notable 3-wicket haul for just 7 runs against Karachi Kings.
He also performed strongly in the ODI series against New Zealand, claiming 8 wickets and emerging as one of the standout bowlers of the series.
The board added that Rana had been given six days of rest and will remain available for Bangladesh’s upcoming Test series against Pakistan, scheduled to begin on May 8 in Dhaka.
