Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari Supports Iqrar-ul-Hassan, Calls for Action Against FIA Official Over Airport Incident

Lahore: Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari has expressed support for television host Iqrar-ul-Hassan following an altercation at the airport involving an FIA official, and has urged Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to take action against the concerned officer.
The incident reportedly took place at the airport during Iqrar-ul-Hassan’s return from abroad, where a heated exchange occurred between him and an official of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
Reacting to the incident, Uzma Bukhari strongly condemned the behaviour, stating that government employment—especially in uniform services—carries significant responsibility. She said that humiliating or misbehaving with passengers at service counters is unacceptable.

She emphasized that the uniform represents the state, and any misconduct by an official damages not only their own reputation but also the credibility of the entire institution. She added that such incidents highlight serious shortcomings in the moral training of staff deployed at public service points.
Addressing Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, she called for immediate action, stating that officials in uniform must not be allowed to engage in rude behaviour or pass inappropriate remarks while performing their duties.
