Sabina Farooq Slams Iqrar-ul-Hassan Over Airport Altercation With FIA Official

LAHORE: Actress Sabina Farooq has strongly criticized former TV host and politician Iqrar-ul-Hassan following a viral video showing his heated exchange with a Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) official at Lahore Airport.
Reacting to the incident, Sabina questioned whether individuals should stop expressing opinions unless a preferred government is in power. “Should people only work when their favored government is in office, and otherwise stay at home? Should they start worshipping whoever is in power? Should we stop expressing our opinions?” she remarked.
Drawing an international comparison, she added that even in countries like the United States, citizens openly criticize leaders such as Donald Trump without facing such expectations.

The actress emphasized that in many countries, state institutions operate under constitutional responsibilities, and employees’ personal views do not interfere with their professional duties. She termed Iqrar-ul-Hassan’s behavior as “unacceptable,” stating that such conduct in public spaces is inappropriate.
Sabina further noted that freedom of expression does not justify insulting others or adopting an aggressive tone in public, stressing that disagreements should be expressed in a respectful and dignified manner.
The controversy erupted after a video surfaced online showing Iqrar-ul-Hassan arguing with an FIA official at an immigration counter. In the clip, he can be heard criticizing the officer for allegedly making political remarks while on duty and demanding an apology, leading to a tense exchange between the two.
The FIA official, in response, maintained that he was simply performing his duty, while the argument continued over the appropriateness of political comments during official responsibilities.
