Pakistan Army Foils Infiltration Attempt in South Waziristan, Several Posts Destroyed

PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Army successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt in South Waziristan after firing was initiated from the Afghan side in the Angoor Adda Zlol Khel area, security sources said.
According to reports, the Pakistan Army responded swiftly and effectively, destroying several hostile positions. Officials stated that all attempts of infiltration by “Fitna al-Khawarij” were successfully neutralized due to timely military action.
Following the failed infiltration, Afghan Taliban elements reportedly targeted civilian areas, resulting in injuries to three civilians, including two women. The injured were immediately shifted to a hospital in Wana for medical treatment.
Sources added that after effective operations under “Operation Azm-e-Istehkam,” militant groups resorted to targeting civilian populations in desperation. Local residents strongly condemned the incident and called for a strong response from security forces.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the Pakistan Army for its timely and effective action, stating that the infiltration attempt was successfully foiled and hostile designs were defeated.
He also condemned the firing on civilians and prayed for the swift recovery of the injured. The minister said the army delivered a strong response to unprovoked aggression from the Afghan Taliban regime and expressed national pride in the professionalism and courage of the armed forces, adding that the nation stands firmly with them.
