Armed Attack on Police Station and Rest House in Chagai; Buildings Set Ablaze

Chagai: Unknown armed assailants attacked a police station and a rest house in the Yak Mach area of Chagai district along the Pak-Iran N-40 highway, setting both buildings on fire and destroying official records.
According to details, the incident occurred late at night when around 20 to 25 armed men arrived on motorcycles and vehicles and launched the attack. The rest house was completely burnt down, while the police station sustained partial damage.
Officials said that all items inside the rest house were destroyed in the fire. Important government records kept at the police station were also reduced to ashes.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Chagai stated that the attack took place around 1:30 a.m. He said the police station was a small facility with limited personnel present at the time, which made effective resistance difficult due to the sudden nature of the assault.
Authorities confirmed that no casualties were reported in the incident. However, both the rest house and police station suffered significant structural and administrative losses.
Following the attack, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace the assailants. Investigations into the incident are currently underway.
