Pakistan, US Discuss Regional Peace Efforts and Iran–US Talks in High-Level Meeting

Islamabad — Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with US Ambassador Natalie Baker to discuss the regional security situation, ongoing peace efforts, and prospects for continued diplomatic engagement.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed developments related to the potential second round of Iran–US negotiations and emphasized the importance of maintaining diplomatic channels for a long-term resolution of the conflict.

Mohsin Naqvi described the extension of the ceasefire as a positive development and praised US President Donald Trump for his role in reducing tensions. He expressed hope that Iran would also respond positively to ongoing diplomatic efforts.

He further stated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir are actively engaged at all levels to support peaceful resolution efforts, stressing that all parties should give diplomacy a chance.

The US ambassador appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional peace and resolving conflicts through dialogue.
