UK Bans Entry of US Influencer Over Anti-Islam Remarks

Islamabad: The United Kingdom has barred American social media influencer Valentina Gomez from entering the country over alleged anti-Islam statements, according to media reports.
British media stated that the decision was taken by Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, who ordered a ban on Gomez’s entry ahead of her planned visit to attend a right-wing demonstration in London next month.
Reports indicate that Gomez had been granted a UK e-visa last week. However, following strong criticism from members of parliament and public backlash, authorities reversed the decision and imposed a ban.
UK officials said the government has the authority to deny entry to foreign nationals if their presence is deemed “not conducive to the public good.”
The move also comes amid concerns over a planned rally in May, reportedly led by far-right figure Tommy Robinson, which has raised security concerns.
Gomez is known for sharing controversial anti-Islam views on social media, which reportedly contributed to the decision to block her entry into the UK.
