Sohail Warraich Criticizes YouTubers Over ‘Changing Narratives’ in Latest Vlog

LAHORE: Senior journalist and analyst Sohail Warraich has strongly criticized YouTubers for what he described as shifting and inconsistent narratives, urging them to acknowledge past claims that have proven incorrect.
In his latest vlog, Warraich said that while many YouTubers previously questioned the legal standing of Field Marshal Asim Munir, they should now also recognize his performance in diplomacy and international relations.
He remarked that although politicians are elected, individuals with greater capabilities should also be acknowledged. However, he reiterated that he has always opposed the military’s involvement in politics, adding that so far no action by the field marshal could be termed unconstitutional.
Warraich also referred to the tenure of former prime minister Imran Khan, claiming that Pakistan’s relations with countries such as Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states had deteriorated, while tensions with the United States and Iran had also escalated.
He further stated that Pakistan had faced economic challenges during that period, including difficulties in securing loans and issues with the International Monetary Fund, which led to strict conditions that are still impacting the country.
Criticizing online commentators, Warraich said that instead of admitting mistakes, many continue to create new narratives while ignoring their past statements. He stressed that political criticism is legitimate, but it must remain within limits and should not harm state institutions.
He added that crossing such boundaries turns political opposition into a threat to the state, emphasizing that without a stable state, there can be no meaningful politics.
