Punjab Information Minister Criticizes Actress Fiza Ali Over Viral Video

LAHORE: Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari has strongly criticized actress and television host Fiza Ali over her recently viral video, calling it an attempt to gain ratings.

Speaking during a media interview, the minister said the incident was “regrettable” and questioned the ethical standards being followed in such televised content. She added that the matter should be reviewed by the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), while also stressing the responsibility of broadcasters.

Bukhari said that the actress, who has an 8–10-year-old daughter, was involving her in on-air content and displaying inappropriate behavior on live television. She further remarked that personal life boundaries should be respected and questioned why such content was allowed to air.

The minister stated that while individuals are free to live happily, public broadcast platforms must ensure editorial responsibility, adding that such content could have been stopped before airing.

She also alleged that Fiza Ali has a history of seeking ratings through controversial content, saying the recent incident reflects the same pattern.

The controversy arose after Fiza Ali hosted her husband, Ejaz Khan, on her morning show where the couple shared their personal story. During the program, a light-hearted moment involving their daughter went viral on social media, drawing widespread criticism from users online.
