Pakistani Delegation Led by COAS Asim Munir Meets Iranian Foreign Minister in Tehran

TEHRAN: A high-level Pakistani delegation led by Chief of Army Staff Syed Asim Munir held a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Tehran, with other senior Iranian officials also in attendance.
In a statement shared on the social media platform X, the Iranian foreign minister expressed gratitude to Pakistan for hosting recent talks, calling it a reflection of the “deep and historic bilateral ties” between the two countries.
Araghchi welcomed Field Marshal Asim Munir to Iran, stating that he was pleased to receive the Pakistani delegation. He emphasized that both countries share a strong and unified commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region.
The visit comes as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts surrounding US-Iran negotiations, with Pakistan playing a facilitating role. The Pakistani delegation, led by Asim Munir, is currently in Tehran in this regard.
Upon arrival, the delegation was received by Foreign Minister Araghchi along with other Iranian officials.
According to Al Jazeera, Iranian sources indicated that the visit is taking place at a time when efforts are underway to revive dialogue between the United States and Iran.
