Iran Signals Next Round of Talks With US May Be Hosted Again by Pakistan

Tehran: Iran has indicated the possibility of a second round of negotiations with the United States, suggesting that Pakistan may once again host the talks next Wednesday.
According to Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghaei, communication between Iran and the United States has been continuing through Pakistan, which is acting as an intermediary for message exchange between the two sides.
Speaking at a press briefing in Tehran, Baghaei confirmed that an initial round of talks had already taken place in Islamabad. He added that after the Iranian delegation returned home, further exchanges of messages between Iran and the US were facilitated through Pakistan.
He said there is a strong possibility that Pakistan will host another round of discussions next Wednesday. According to him, indirect communications through Pakistani intermediaries have been ongoing since Sunday.
The spokesperson noted that the discussions have included issues such as the aftermath of previous conflict, efforts to end hostilities, and the lifting of sanctions imposed on Iran.
Reiterating Iran’s position, Baghaei said that the country is not interested in acquiring nuclear weapons and will not compromise on its national rights or accept any form of foreign interference in the region.
He further stated that the upcoming talks, facilitated by Pakistan, are expected to focus on achieving a ceasefire and reducing regional tensions.
