Pakistan Announces Free SIM Cards for Hajj Pilgrims with Calls and Internet Package

Islamabad: The Government of Pakistan has announced a major facility for Hajj pilgrims, offering free SIM cards for use in Saudi Arabia during the pilgrimage.
Under this initiative, every pilgrim will be provided a complimentary local SIM card to ensure easy communication throughout their stay, including free call minutes and internet data.
Officials stated that pilgrims opting for the long Hajj package (40 days) will receive 600 local and international call minutes along with 40GB of internet data. Meanwhile, those traveling under the short package will be given 300 local and international minutes and 25GB of data.
The allocated minutes can be used for both making and receiving calls, allowing pilgrims to stay connected with their families and companions.
Authorities have advised pilgrims not to purchase any additional SIM cards, as only one SIM will be issued per passport. Obtaining another SIM could result in the deactivation of the officially issued one.
Further instructions indicate that recharge codes will be available at pilgrims’ accommodations or designated counters. If the balance is used up, additional credit can be purchased. SIM cards will be distributed directly at the pilgrims’ residences in Saudi Arabia.
The initiative is aimed at improving convenience and ensuring smooth communication for pilgrims during Hajj.
