Constitution Day: CM Balochistan Calls 1973 Constitution a Milestone of National Unity and Democracy

Quetta: Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said that the unanimous approval of Pakistan’s Constitution on April 10, 1973, remains a historic milestone symbolizing national unity, democratic stability, and the strengthening of the federation.

In his message on Constitution Day, the chief minister said that the Constitution is not merely a legal document but a social contract between the state and its people, defining both citizens’ rights and state responsibilities.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring the protection of constitutional rights for all citizens and stressed that no one would be allowed to impose their ideology through force. He emphasized that the writ of the state would be maintained under all circumstances, and that the rule of law and supremacy of the Constitution are the foundation of a civilized society.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti further stated that Parliament and constitutional processes remain the only legitimate path for securing public rights, noting that Balochistan’s rights have been achieved through parliamentary struggle and constitutional means.

He paid tribute to the security forces and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for upholding the rule of law and combating terrorism, saying their sacrifices will never go in vain.

The chief minister also highlighted that strengthening democracy and adhering to the Constitution are essential for Pakistan’s bright and stable future. He urged the youth to understand the importance of the Constitution so they can play an active role in national development as responsible citizens.
