Sindh High Court Threatens Federal Interior Secretary Over Ignoring Court Orders

Karachi: The Constitutional Bench of the Sindh High Court expressed anger at the Federal Interior Secretary for failing to comply with a court directive. The court warned that if the name of the petitioner is not removed from the blacklist within a week, arrest warrants will be issued.

Justice Adnan Al-Karim remarked that, based on assurances from Deputy Attorney General Khaliq Ahmed, the court is refraining from issuing the warrant for now.

The petitioner’s lawyer stated that Federal Interior Secretary Captain (Retired) Khurram Agha had not implemented the court’s order and had also failed to respond to the judicial notice.

The court had earlier directed that the name of overseas-based Muhammad Irfan be removed from the blacklist.
