Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari Intervenes in Feud Between Actresses Resham and Didar

LAHORE: Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari has stepped into the verbal spat between actresses Resham and Didar, which recently gained attention on social media.

The dispute began when Didar criticized Resham on a private TV program, accusing her of spreading negativity and affecting people’s lives. Resham later responded in an interview without directly naming Didar.

In a widely circulated social media statement, Azma Bukhari expressed concern over the matter. She said that while people may hold differences and critique each other, it is inappropriate to attack a woman’s character or question her charitable work. She highlighted Resham’s contributions, noting her involvement in hospitals across Punjab and relief work during recent floods.

Bukhari emphasized that criticizing women publicly in a derogatory manner sets a bad example. “If a woman ridicules another woman on social media, it contradicts the principle of respecting others,” she said. The minister urged women to maintain mutual respect and decorum, stating that such conduct undermines both personal dignity and social values.
