NADRA Launches Upgraded Pak ID App, Simplifies Visa and Biometric Verification Process

Islamabad: National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced an upgraded version of its Pak ID Mobile App, significantly simplifying the visa application and biometric verification process.
According to an official statement and informational video released by NADRA, the updated app makes it easier for foreigners wishing to visit Pakistan as well as overseas Pakistanis to apply for visas. Citizens from 193 countries can now submit applications for all visa categories directly through the app.
A key enhancement eliminates the need for manual entry of details such as name, passport number, and expiry date. By uploading or capturing a passport image, the system automatically scans and fills in the required information.
The app also features a dedicated section for biometric verification on its homepage, streamlining the process for users. Through this feature, individuals can now verify family relationships, vehicle transfers, inheritance matters, passports, arms licenses, and pensioners’ “proof of life” from home.
Additionally, facial recognition and fingerprint verification processes have been made faster and more user-friendly.
A NADRA spokesperson advised users to update the Pak ID Mobile App via app stores to benefit from the latest features, highlighting the move as part of ongoing efforts to enhance digital public services.
