Cooking Oil, Ghee Prices Likely to Rise by Up to Rs150 per Kg

ISLAMABAD: A significant increase in the prices of cooking oil and ghee is expected in the coming days, industry representatives have warned.
According to the Pakistan Vanaspati Manufacturers Association (PVMA), prices could rise by Rs100 to Rs150 per kilogram due to increasing production costs.
Officials from PVMA stated that the recent surge in petroleum prices has sharply raised operational expenses for ghee mills. Transportation and production costs have increased to what they described as “unbearable levels,” forcing manufacturers to consider price hikes.
The association has urged the government to immediately form a committee to address the issue and explore measures to reduce costs and prevent further burden on consumers.
