Grenade Attacks and Firing in Quetta Leave One Dead, Four Security Personnel Injured

Quetta: A series of grenade attacks and firing incidents in Quetta and its surrounding areas have left one civilian dead and at least 12 others injured, including four security personnel.

According to reports, unidentified armed assailants targeted the gate of Frontier Corps 115 Wing in the Sariab area, opening fire and hurling a hand grenade. As a result, three personnel of the Frontier Corps were injured.

In a separate incident near Aghberg’s Khuni Talab area, within the jurisdiction of Nohsar Police Station, a police checkpoint came under attack. Armed men opened fire and used a hand grenade, injuring a police constable identified as Abbas. Police retaliated effectively, forcing the attackers—who were riding motorcycles—to flee the scene.

While escaping, the attackers also set a private vehicle on fire, further escalating panic in the area.

Meanwhile, loud explosions were reported near Dasht Tera Mill Kili Hasni, and another firing incident occurred at a check post of FC 107 Wing. However, no casualties were reported in that particular attack.

Following these back-to-back incidents, security across Quetta and adjoining areas has been placed on high alert. Law enforcement agencies have set up checkpoints and launched a search operation to track down the attackers.

District authorities and rescue teams are actively providing medical assistance to the injured, while efforts are underway to apprehend those responsible for the attacks.
