Quetta Gladiators Defeat Hyderabad Kings by 40 Runs in PSL Match

Islamabad: Quetta Gladiators secured their second consecutive victory in the Pakistan Super League by defeating Hyderabad Kings by 40 runs in the fifth match of the tournament.

The match, played at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, saw Quetta Gladiators win the toss and choose to bat first, posting a total of 174 runs for the loss of 8 wickets.

Young batter Shamiel Khan played a brilliant innings, scoring 54 runs, marking his second consecutive half-century in the PSL. Hasan Nawaz contributed 53 runs, while Tom Curran added 31 runs. No other batsman reached double figures.

From Hyderabad Kings, Meredith took three wickets, while Mahesh Theekshana and Akif Javed claimed two wickets each.

Chasing the target, Hyderabad Kings managed 134 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Key contributions came from Irfan Khan Niazi (33), Hassan Khan (31), and captain Marins Luboschyn (23).

In the bowling department for Quetta Gladiators, Abrar Ahmed was the most successful with 3 wickets, followed by Ahmed Daniyal with 2, and Alzari Joseph, Usman Tariq, and Saud Shakeel taking one each.

Shamiel Khan was named Player of the Match for his outstanding batting performance.
