Election Postponement Requested in NA-256 Khuzdar Over Security Concerns, Final Decision with ECP: Babar Yousafzai

Quetta: The government of Balochistan has requested the postponement of elections in NA-256 Khuzdar due to security concerns and potential threats.

Babar Yousafzai, Assistant for Interior to the Balochistan government, stated that the provincial authorities have formally submitted the request citing possible risks to the safety of voters and election staff. He clarified, however, that the decision to hold or delay the elections rests solely with the Election Commission of Pakistan.

The announcement comes amid heightened security alerts in the region, with authorities emphasizing the importance of ensuring a safe and transparent electoral process.
