Veteran Actress Resham Slams Syed Noor Over Hurtful Remarks, Reveals She Never Wanted to Join Films

Karachi: Renowned Pakistani actress Resham expressed strong criticism of veteran film director Syed Noor for recent statements she described as “hurtful” and “disrespectful,” saying such remarks are unbecoming, especially at their age.

Speaking on the ARY News program Hamare Mehman, Resham said she has always respected Noor but was deeply hurt by his “cheap” comments about her. She emphasized that such words should not be spoken in later life, particularly when one cannot predict how much time remains.

The actress revealed that she never intended to enter the film industry, preferring to work solely in television. According to Resham, it was Noor’s wife, Rukhsana, who pushed her into films and introduced her to Syed Noor. She said, “Now, he sits on various podcasts claiming that if he hadn’t given me a chance, I wouldn’t be anything. The truth is, if I hadn’t worked in his film, perhaps he wouldn’t have found such a talented actress, and his film wouldn’t have been a super hit.”

Resham also commented on her current demeanor, attributing her bitterness to the negative attitudes she has encountered, noting that very few people now deserve genuine respect. She criticized Noor for belittling other senior actresses on podcasts despite having stayed away from films for seven years, saying, “If he continues like this, there is no one more despicable than him.”

Her remarks have sparked a fresh debate within Pakistan’s entertainment circles, highlighting tensions between actors and directors over respect and recognition in the industry.
