Apple Delays Launch of Foldable iPhone to Focus on Quality and Durability

United States: Apple Inc. has reportedly postponed the launch of its first foldable iPhone, prioritizing product quality and durability over rushing into the competitive foldable smartphone market.

The delay comes as rivals like Samsung and Huawei have already established a strong presence in the foldable segment.

According to reports, Apple aims to develop a device with a perfectly smooth display when unfolded, eliminating visible creases or pressure marks—a challenge that has not been fully achieved in first-generation foldable devices. The upcoming model is expected to feature one of the most advanced hinge systems in the industry.

Experts suggest that the new design focuses on improving screen flexibility while minimizing structural flaws. However, increased flexibility may also make the display more fragile, raising concerns about durability.

The complex engineering involved is likely to increase manufacturing costs, potentially making the device more expensive. Apple is reportedly exploring an innovative approach using a 3D-printed titanium hinge with special filler materials to reduce friction and pressure, thereby enhancing screen performance and production efficiency.

Despite the delay and expected high price, analysts believe strong global demand is likely due to Apple’s brand appeal, with the foldable iPhone anticipated to mark a significant milestone in the evolution of smartphones.
