Dozens of Afghan Artists Seek Stay in Pakistan Over Security Concerns

Islamabad: The Peshawar High Court has directed Afghan artists seeking visas and residence in Pakistan to approach the Ministry of Interior.

A two-member bench headed by Justice Waqar Ahmad heard the case, during which the petitioners’ counsel informed the court that 109 Afghan artists had applied for permission to stay in Pakistan.

The lawyer stated that due to the current situation in Afghanistan, musicians and artists face serious threats to their lives, making it unsafe for them to return.

Following the hearing, the court instructed the applicants to formally take up the matter with the Ministry of Interior for further consideration.
