Iran Targets Power Facility in Haifa; Outages Reported in Several Areas

TEHRAN: Iran has claimed responsibility for targeting a power facility in the Israeli city of Haifa, resulting in electricity outages in several areas, according to official statements.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said the strike was carried out in response to a prior attack on the South Pars gas field. Following the attack, multiple neighborhoods in Haifa reportedly experienced power disruptions.

Iran’s foreign minister warned that Tehran would not exercise restraint if its infrastructure is targeted again, adding that any resolution to the conflict must include compensation for damage inflicted on civilian areas.

Meanwhile, Israeli officials confirmed that a missile struck an oil refinery in Haifa, reportedly operated by the Bazan Group. According to Israel’s energy minister, one person was injured in the incident.

He added that the infrastructure sustained no major damage and electricity supply has already been restored in most affected areas, with full restoration expected soon.

The incident marks a further escalation in ongoing tensions in the region, raising concerns over potential impacts on energy infrastructure and regional stability.
