Actress Ananya Panday Reacts to Abrar Ahmed’s ‘The Hundred’ Deal Amid Social Media Controversy

Mumbai: Indian actress Ananya Panday has reportedly expressed a strong reaction to the selection of Pakistani cricketer Abrar Ahmed in The Hundred, sparking debate on social media.

According to circulating reports, Ananya Panday allegedly announced a boycott of Sunrisers Hyderabad and even claimed to have broken her Reliance Jio SIM card in protest. However, there has been no official confirmation from the actress regarding these claims.

The controversy intensified after Abrar Ahmed was picked by a team linked to Indian-origin ownership in the league, leading to backlash among some Indian social media users and cricket fans.

Reports suggest that The Hundred tournament is scheduled to take place from July 21 to August 16. Abrar Ahmed would require a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to participate, though there is a possibility he may not receive it due to national team commitments.

It is worth noting that Abrar Ahmed last played a Test match in January 2025 against the West Indies.
