Foolproof Security Plan Approved for 21st Ramadan Procession in Quetta

**Quetta:** A high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Quetta to review security arrangements for the central 21st Ramadan procession and overall law and order in the city.

The meeting was attended by SSP Operations Quetta Asif Khan, SSP Dostin Dashti, Shia Conference leaders and prominent figures including Ashiq Hussain, Kazim Ali, Amir Bakhtiar Karbalai, Khadim Agha, Hashim Mousavi, as well as business leaders Rahim Agha, Abdul Rahim Kakar, Amruddin Agha, Hazrat Ali Achakzai, Yasin Mengal, Aslam Rand, and respected religious scholars Mufti Muhammad Ahmad Khan, Qari Ghulam Yaseen, and Dr. Ataur Rahman.

During the session, a foolproof security plan for the 21st Ramadan procession was approved. It was decided that, alongside conventional security measures, police would provide drinking water points along the procession routes out of humanitarian consideration.

DIG Quetta addressed the participants, praising all communities and business leaders for consistently demonstrating peace and brotherhood. Referring to the joint Sunni-Shia participation in a recent Imam Khomeini memorial, he called it a practical display of Muslim unity, describing it as the strongest barrier against enemy designs.

He instructed the administration to accelerate intelligence-based search operations in light of potential terrorist threats and warned that no disruptive element would be allowed to disturb the peace of the city during this sacred occasion. DIG Quetta emphasized that no lapses in security would be tolerated and that he would personally oversee field operations with SSP Operations.

Religious scholars and business leaders were urged to stick to the designated procession routes to ensure the security plan’s effective implementation. The DIG also confirmed that detailed coordination has already taken place with the Deputy Commissioner and all relevant departments. Referring to a successful operation on January 31, he assured that the authorities would continue to foil any attempts by troublemakers.

The meeting concluded with a call for all communities to demonstrate unity and cooperation, providing suggestions to ensure the 21st Ramadan procession concludes in a completely peaceful environment.
