Pakistan’s Path to T20 World Cup 2026 Semifinals Depends on New Zealand and Sri Lanka Results

Islamabad (Qudrat Roznama) – Pakistan’s chances of reaching the semifinals of the T20 World Cup 2026 now hinge on the outcomes of New Zealand’s remaining matches.

Pakistan’s opening match against New Zealand was washed out due to rain, and today they suffered a narrow 2-wicket defeat against England in a thrilling contest.

If New Zealand loses both of its remaining matches against England and Sri Lanka, Pakistan will need to defeat Sri Lanka to secure a spot in the semifinals.

However, if New Zealand loses only one match, Pakistan must beat Sri Lanka by a significant margin to improve their net run rate.

In the scenario where either New Zealand or Sri Lanka wins both of their remaining matches, Pakistan will be eliminated from the semifinals race.
