Nomination Papers Submission Ends for NA-256 By-Election, Polling on April 5

**Quetta:** The submission of nomination papers for the by-election in National Assembly constituency NA-256, Balochistan, has concluded. According to election officials, a total of 70 nomination papers were issued, out of which 38 candidates submitted their papers.

Officials of the Election Commission of Pakistan stated that the preliminary list of candidates contesting the by-election will be published on February 25, 2026, while scrutiny of nomination papers will be completed by March 4, 2026.

The last date for filing appeals against the decisions of the Returning Officer in the Appellate Tribunal has been set for March 9, 2026, and the final decisions on these appeals will be announced by March 16, 2026. A revised list of candidates will also be published on March 16.

The final date for withdrawal of candidature and issuance of the final list of candidates is March 17, 2026, while allocation of election symbols will take place on March 18, 2026.

Polling will be held on Sunday, April 5, 2026, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
