Two Passengers Offloaded at Karachi Airport Over Suspected Political Asylum Documents

KARACHI: Airport immigration authorities at Jinnah International Airport offloaded two passengers traveling to Cambodia, despite having valid visas, after raising suspicions during immigration clearance.
According to officials, the passengers, Sunil Gill and Victor IM Samuel, were flagged during questioning. Deputy Director of Immigration, Shehzad Akbar, stated that a check of Sunil Gill’s mobile phone revealed political asylum applications sent to the United Nations, which also included the name of Victor IM Samuel.
Sunil Gill reportedly admitted that Victor Samuel was assisting him in matters related to seeking political asylum abroad. Victor Samuel, however, claimed that the documents were fabricated and that their purpose was to seek political asylum in the United States.
Both passengers were offloaded and handed over to the Federal Investigation Agency, Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Karachi, for verification and legal proceedings.
