Momina Iqbal Praises Punjab’s Progress, Says “If Maryam Nawaz Comes to Karachi, Things May Improve”

Karachi: Renowned Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal has sparked debate on social media after praising Punjab’s development and expressing hope that Maryam Nawaz could help improve conditions in Karachi.
A video clip of the actress discussing Karachi’s situation has gone viral, in which she highlights the progress being made in Punjab and wishes for similar improvements in the port city.
In the viral clip, Momina Iqbal said that significant development work is currently underway in Punjab and that the situation there has improved considerably. During the conversation, host Faisal Qureshi asked her to comment on Karachi’s condition as well.
The actress responded that she had even publicly questioned the matter, saying, “If there is someone for the people of Karachi, please let us know.” She added that since she mostly lives in Karachi, the city feels like her own, and she faces certain issues there.
Faisal Qureshi remarked that perhaps she should urge leaders to pay attention, joking that maybe they would listen to her if they were not listening to others.
Momina Iqbal replied, “If Maryam Nawaz comes here as well, perhaps Karachi’s situation may improve.”
It is worth noting that in January last year, during a meeting with traders in Karachi, Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal was told by business representatives that they wished to “borrow” Maryam Nawaz as Chief Minister for some time, while offering Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah in exchange.
The traders’ remarks went viral on social media at the time, with many users criticizing the Pakistan Peoples Party and the Sindh government over governance issues in Karachi.
