Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Congratulates Tarique Rahman on BNP Electoral Victory

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan held a telephone conversation with Tarique Rahman, leader of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), to congratulate him on his party’s recent electoral success.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, Shehbaz Sharif also congratulated the people of Bangladesh on the successful conduct of the general elections and reaffirmed the commitment to further strengthen bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Both leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, including regional peace and development. They also paid tribute to Begum Khaleda Zia for her services in promoting Pakistan-Bangladesh relations and agreed to stay in contact and work together for the welfare of their peoples.
The statement added that Tarique Rahman has been invited to visit Pakistan soon.
Official results from the Bangladesh Election Commission show that the BNP secured a two-thirds majority in the 299-seat parliamentary elections, winning 212 seats, while Jamaat-e-Islami emerged as the second-largest party with 77 seats.
