Priyanka Chopra Responds to Criticism Over Intercultural Marriage with Nick Jonas

Mumbai: Bollywood and Hollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has broken her silence regarding criticism surrounding her marriage to American singer Nick Jonas, addressing the differences in age, nationality, and religion that have drawn public attention.

In a recent interview with international media, Chopra said, “If anyone is waiting for our marriage to end, they can keep waiting. I’ve stopped thinking about it.” She added that marriage is a personal choice, and for her and Jonas, their relationship has now reached eight years. “If people are anticipating a breakup, that’s their prerogative, but it no longer concerns me,” she noted.

Chopra reflected on how their intercultural marriage, age gap, and different religious backgrounds became subjects of discussion and, at times, public scrutiny. “It was difficult for us, but instead of paying attention to others’ opinions, we focused on each other, and now all that criticism has lost its meaning,” she said.

She also praised Jonas for his sincerity and dedication, recalling that they married just six months after meeting, and at the time, she wasn’t sure if their union would become a reality.
