Khawaja Saad Rafique Demands All Possible Measures for Imran Khan’s Medical Treatment

Lahore (Qudrat Roznama) – Senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique expressed concern over reports of Imran Khan’s deteriorating eyesight and called for all possible steps to ensure his best medical care.
In a statement, he said, “Every prison, whether strict or lenient, inevitably imposes some form of health risk on its inmates. News about Imran Khan losing vision in one eye is deeply worrying.” He emphasized that timely and effective medical treatment is a fundamental human right, and protecting the health rights of a prisoner—especially a political opponent—becomes even more important.
Saad Rafique stated that Imran Khan’s family or party should not have had to approach the Supreme Court to secure his medical rights. He added that revisiting past incidents of mistreatment of political opponents during his own government would not be appropriate.
He urged the government and state institutions to:
1. Issue an official stance based on medical reports regarding Imran Khan’s health.
2. Facilitate meetings between Imran Khan and his family.
3. Ensure doctors have access to him according to his wishes.
4. Take all possible measures to provide him with the best available medical care.
